Gac Launches the Emzoom and It May Just Disrupt the Market

The GAC GS3 Emzoom has finally been launched with specs and pricing that may just disrupt the market. It will come in 3 variants which will occupy one of the most competitive price brackets in the market, the 1-1.2 milion peso price bracket

All 3 variants will get the same 1.5 liter engine which puts out 174hp and 270Nm of torque. It’s the same engine that powers the Empow and if the Empow is any indication, the Emzoom may be one of the quickest if not the quickest crossover in this price bracket. Also standard on all variants are a 7 speed dual clutch transmission, a 10.25 in screen with apple carplay and android mirroring,
GAC's new design language is very angular

The base model 1.5GS will sell for P998,000 and will hold the distinction of having the most powerful engine of any vehicle under 1 million pesos by a significant margin. It will come with a polyurethane steering wheel, fabric seats, 18in wheels, cruise control, rear parking sensors but no reverse camera.

The Middle-spec 1.5GB will sell for P1098,000 and will come with PVC leather seats, a leather wrapped steering wheel, a rear view camera, 2nd row air conditioning and 18in wheels

The top spec 1.5GE will sell for P1,198,000 and will come with all the bells and whistles, including a 360 camera, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, automatic emergency braking, traffic sign recognition, a panoramic sunroof, a 6-way power adjustable driver seat, 19inch wheels. It also has what GAC calls “Exhaust sound exterior parts” which may be an indication that this has the throatier sounding exhaust system of the Empow GE.

Based on the numbers alone, GAC looks like they may have a very strong contender on this one. Do watch out for our full review

Why do people lower their cars?

Why do people lower their cars? This is a question often asked by non-car enthusiasts. “ To improve the car’s performance, so I can take corners flatter ” –this is the usual response. But what they really mean is. “ Who cares if I lose a tooth every time I hit a pothole at 60mph, I want my car to look good " I haven’t done a scientific survey but I'm pretty sure that 70% of the time, people lower their cars for looks. There are obvious trade-offs but the car will look sportier, long er and wider once it’s lowered. If you plan to upgrade to bigger wheels, lowering the car becomes essential as putting 17in or bigger wheels on a non-lowered car will give the car a “lifted” look. Case in point below:   19in wheels on a non-lowered car Same wheels, same car but it doesn’t look like it’s on jack stands this time. How do I drive a lowered car:  You’ll find that driving a lowered car requires a new set of skills that they probably won’t teach you at your local driving ...

It features a 2.0L turbocharged engine coupled to dual electric motors which send power to all four 22inch wheels. Currently we dont know the total power output or the battery capacity but Jetour did show-off the naked chassis of the T3 and the battery appears to be quite massive, as well as the dual electric motors. Total range in EV mode is 200Kms. The body sits on a steel ladder frame chassis. It has a robust double-wishbone suspension setup on all four corners. It also appears to have air suspension, at least from what i can tell visually ( there was no english spec sheet at the time of this writing)   The T3 has a pretty innovative steering system which can rotate the wheels in different directions and allows it to achieve a very tight turning raduis or even to rotate in place -A useful feature in tight off road situations.   When you open...
